Understanding that we are adopted into Godʼs family has an incredible affect on our identity and how we live our lives. God is a Father who graciously adopts believers in Christ into His spiritual family and grants them all the privileges of being His heirs.
Paul is the only author in the New Testament that uses the Greek word for adoption. He was writing to people under the influence of Roman rule who had in their culture a concept of adoption. This adoption correlates to our salvation in the following ways.
